We delighted to introduce Healing Primary Academy’s Head of Pupil Council team: Maisy, Lucy and Edward. They are delighted to have been elected, and they are ready and eager to start their new role. They wrote and delivered fantastic speeches which they presented with confidence and passion to the whole school. We would like to thank Oskar and Leon, the Prime Minister and Deputy from Healing Academy who came to visit to support our pupils with their speeches.

As part of their project about India, the children in Year 2 were lucky enough to take part in a traditional Indian dance workshop led by Sunita from ‘the Indian Experience.’ This was kindly funded by our school PTA. The children loved dressing up in the traditional clothes that Sunita brought and were mesmerised by her storytelling.

The Year 2 DT project this term was inspired by the traditional Indian dress they wore; the children designed and made their own scarves. The parents were invited to join us for a sewing workshop to support the children in developing this tricky skill! The end products were fantastic!

In the Summer Term the local ice rink tasked the pupils of Healing Primary Academy with re-designing one of their penguins to display at the rink. Freddie won the whole school competition with his ‘save the ocean’ design. The children of Willow Class helped to bring the penguin to life by painting Freddie’s design. It looks brilliant and we will be proud to see it both representing our school and spreading an important message the next time we visit Grimsby ice rink.

On the 15th July, Healing Primary Academy held our first ever Year 5 Graduation celebration. The children shared what qualities they have which will make them great role models in Year 6 and were presented with their purple jumpers by our special guests. The pupils were joined by their parents and carers and the ceremony concluded with graduation cupcakes. What a fantastic team of Year Sixes they’ll be!
