School Attendance
At Healing Primary, we believe that excellent attendance is the cornerstone of academic success, positive well-being, and personal development. Every school day counts, and being in school every day enables children to build friendships, gain essential life skills, and realise their full potential.
In line with the Department for Education’s (DfE) guidance Working Together to Improve School Attendance, our approach is built on partnership, early support, and a whole-school culture that values being present.
Leave of absence during term time
Headteachers cannot grant leave of absence during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Family holidays during term time are not considered exceptional circumstances.

Any requests must be submitted in writing using our Leave of Absence Request Form. This must be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to the requested dates.

Unauthorised absences may be referred to the Local Authority and could result in a Penalty Notice (Fine) under the National Framework.
Please ensure that term dates are considered when planning family holidays.
