Our Academy

School Meals

We are a nut free Academy for the safety of all pupils, visitors and staff.
Please make sure that any products containing nuts are not brought onto the premises, including during drop off and collection times.

Our external caterer, Mellors, provide nutritious meals which are freshly prepared and cooked on site daily. If you wish your child to have a school meal these must be pre-ordered and paid for via ParentPay. Meals must be ordered a week in advance; deadline is Sunday at midnight for the following Monday. Please be aware ParentPay will not allow you to alter or cancel your child’s meal order after the deadline has passed.

If you do not wish for your child to have a cooked school meal, a packed lunch will need to be provided.

Should you require any assistance with ordering your meals please ring or call in to the school office.

Paid School Meals

Meals cost £2.35 per day for all pupils in Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 unless they are entitled to a free school meal. Free school meals can be provided to children of eligible families.

Your child may be able to get free school meals if you are in receipt of any of the following:

Income Support
Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance
Income-related Employment and Support Allowance
Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
The guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190)
Working Tax Credit run-on – paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit
Universal Credit – if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be less than £7,400 a year (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.

Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:

Younger than the compulsory age for starting school
In full-time education

Please get in touch if you would like any assistance claiming for free school meals.

Universal Infant Free School Meals (UIFSM)

Since September 2014 all pupils in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 are entitled to have a free school meal under UIFSM scheme. These meals should be booked via ParentPay, so that our caterer knows who requires a meal.

If you believe that your family are eligible for free school meals from year 3, please apply now, even if your child is not yet in year 3. This will secure your funding.
